In the tradition of things I love to do when I blog, I think I'll write a list of reasons Why JEFFREY-LORENZ trumps over JEFF or JEFFREY.
Unique - Not that many JEFFREY-LORENZ's out there.
007 Vibe to it - When you say it right, it sounds tight.
Mature - While "Jeff" seems cool when I was in high school or college, "Jeffrey-Lorenz" sounds like he's been there and done that. The name sounds worldly. The name is a departure from the norm and an arrival into the tall, dark, and mysterious.
Change - While there's nothing wrong with the name that everyone's grown and love, I feel that a new part of my life needs a new name, a new me.

Disclaimer - People who already know me as Jeff or Jeffrey won't have to worry about me being a prick and calling me Jeffrey-Lorenz. That would just be dumb and make me look like a douche bag. But all I'm saying is try saying it to me. If you, like it cool. If not, then no worries.
Love the idea! Though, you're always Jeff to me, I think i'm interested in trying out the Jeffrey-Lorenz thing (I also, once though about mine.. Alyssa-Marie, but..it's so common w/ the whole Marie thing...so i scratched the idea). I'll be trying out the Jeffrey Lorenz for a while in my head, as so --when you arrive..it's HEY JEFFREY LORENZ!! WHATT UP! :D

Jeffrey Lorenz..It's got a nice ring to it! It sounds very pro not to mention sick lol! Like Alyssa said, you'll always be Jeff to me, but changing your name up especially when your second name is Lorenz, that would be pretty sick.
